Transverse Waves

- A wave is transverse if the displacement is at right angles to the direction of energy transfer
A transverse wave is a wave whose direction of energy transfer is at right angles to its displacement.
A Displacement-Distance Graph gives us:
- The wavelength of a wave
- The amplitude of a wave (from the horizontal axis to the crest)
- Amplitude is NOT from crest to trough
A Displacement-Time Graph provides us with:
- Amplitude of the wave
- The period of the wave (one full oscillation)
